The SERP endpoints open a search engine’s results page the way a user’s own browser would and return the page as the engine served it. You send a search URL and never any code: the task is dat.ai’s own script, run as a Browsing API task with the same key, the same billing and the same task_id in GET /api/v1/browsing/status.

A captcha, a challenge or an empty page is never an answer: such an attempt counts as a failure on the node, and the server tries again from other browsers and IP addresses, first within fanout, then with the next round of attempts. You pay only for the task that returned the page.

Every engine under /api/v1/search/serp/ takes the same request shape (url, locale, cookies, headers, timeout_sec, fanout, attempts, session_key, filter, ttl_days) and answers with the page’s HTML and the X-Task-ID header.
